PGA's inaugural Red Dobbins Senior Classic Monday and
Tuesday June 21st and 22nd
Mystery Valley is hosting the Georgia PGA's inaugural Red Dobbins
Senior Classic Monday and Tuesday June 21st and 22nd. The event is open
to both pros and amateurs. You can see the information in "Red"
below for participating in the event. Additionally, they could certainly use
a couple MVGA members who will not play to serve as fore caddies on a couple
blind tee shots. If you would like to play or assist as a fore caddie,
pick up an entry form in the pro shop or contact Gordon McIntire at the pro
shop 770-469-6913. Please take some time to support this great event to
honor Red Dobbins.
Thanks,
MVGA Officers
The
entry fee is $150.00.
Payable to the Georgia PGA "GPGA". The deadline for
entry is 5 pm Wednesday, June 16th.
However, if someone still wants to get in the tournament after that deadline,
they can "hand-deliver" an entry to Gordon McIntire at the golf shop
by 7 pm on Friday June 18th.
Pairings will be made up over the weekend and available at the golf shop no
later than Sunday, June 20th.
The
tournament format is 36-holes stroke play, gross score. Amatuers will be flighted
according to their Handicap Indexs, and then they
will play scatch within their flight. All
Players will be playing from the same tees, and generally they can expect
that the course will be set up at 6500-6550 yds.
This is a PGA Senior Division Event, and not some "club
tournament"
Play
will be starting at 11:00 on Monday the 21st, as a "shot-gun"
start. We are planning on having a "pre-tournament" ceremony to
honor "Red" prior to the shotgun start on Monday. Tuesday's
play will be tee times going off the 1st tee starting around 10:00 -
10:30. We will all be playing in 3-somes, both days.
